I have located Seaside & sharp-tailed sparrows (both Saltmarsh and Nelson's) in several areas near the mouths of Chuckatuck Creek, Nansemond River, & Bennett's Creek over the years. I have created this webpage to allow easy access to my findings. PLEASE NOTE: I have NOT walked in these marshes (except for Nansemond NWR) during these surveys. These areas (except for Nansemond NWR) are private property and the surveys were done from a boat.
Located in northern portion of Suffolk, VA where Bennett's Creek flows into the Nansemond River.
Here are some records I have kept over the past few years. (NOTE they are not complete as I have mostly recorded "good" birds on outings other than the Nansemond River CBC. For instance Am. Black Ducks are common here in fall/winter but I have only written it down it once.)
